TRICARE is medical insurance which is provided to individuals in the armed forces of the United States. Drug abuse inside the military is a lot more common than one would assume, and the need to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to deal with drug and alcohol dependence such as detox services, in addition to treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People who have TRICARE will of course have to get a prior approval before partaking in any sort of treatment service, which can be arranged using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center is the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits concerning how much time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy that may be very useful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors waiting to help today.
