Medicare is a type of health insurance designed by the federal government for older persons, as well as people with certain disabilities and sicknesses. If a person that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a great degree. The one catch is, the person will have to receive treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be permitted to start rehab, they will also have to see their primary care physician who must state that rehab services are medically needed, and the physician will generally approve what type of rehabilitation the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehab providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center in the event that the individual needs to be hospitalized for problem, along with the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab in a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they're going to have to self pay.
