Medicare is a type of medical insurance developed by the U.S. government for older folks, along with people who have certain disabilities and sicknesses. If someone that has Medicare needs treatment for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehab will either be covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The one catch is, the individual will have to acquire treatment from a drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to start rehabilitation, they may also have to see their medical doctor who must declare that rehab services are medically essential, and the doctor will usually approve what sort of treatment the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual should be hospitalized because of their problem, and the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to any other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance or they'll have to self pay.
