A group home for someone who has been involved in alcohol and drug abuse is a place which provides continuous support and help for individuals in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for individuals with a mental health problem or who are encountering behavioral problems for example. As an alternative to sending people who are being affected by substance abuse or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or another similar facility, a group home may help provide an appropriate environment to help maintain stability in their lives and have counsel and assistance at their fingertips around the clock. Residents in the group home might be taking part in rehab services during residence, or may be taking actions to get their life set up outside of the group home so that they can at some time live on their own not in the group home.
