Medicaid is a form of medical insurance available for individuals who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to obtain this government provided insurance coverage. Whether an individual qualifies for Medicaid doesn't only determined by their earnings however, and people shouldn't assume they don't qualify because they earn an acceptable income. For example, men and women who have quite a few dependents may be eligible for Medicaid even if they earn what can be considered a fair income. Medicaid could also cover the price of treatment, when someone has been abusing drugs or alcohol and requires rehab. There are many drug treatment programs which accept Medicaid, but various states have distinct guidelines for what types of rehab are covered. Certain states only cover outpatient rehab services as an example while other states cover far more extensive rehab like a residential stay in long-term drug and alcohol rehab facility. If somebody is involved with substance abuse and needs help, they can use their Medicaid health coverage to obtain this treatment. If they don't have Medicaid plus don't have the funds or another form of medical insurance to pay for rehab, they can see if they qualify for Medicaid and then sign up for an alcohol and drug rehabilitation program that's approved inside their state.
