TRICARE is health care insurance which is offered to people in the military of the United States. Substance abuse inside the military is a lot more common than one would imagine, and the need to provide treatment to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to handle alcohol and drug dependence such as detox services, in addition to treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Those that have TRICARE will obviously be asked to have a prior approval before partaking in any type of rehab service, that may be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program is the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this particular center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits about the length of time a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which is often very useful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process.
