TRICARE is health care insurance which is offered to folks in the military of the United States. Drug abuse within the military is much more common than one would imagine, and the need to provide treatment to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers a number of rehab services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence such as detox services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People with TRICARE will obviously be required to obtain a prior authorization before taking part in any type of rehabilitation service, that may be organized with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility will be the preferred treatment option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in that center per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits as to how long a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very helpful, as it could help include family members in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are expert treatment counselors waiting to help today.
