Medicare is a form of medical insurance designed by the government for older persons, in addition to individuals with certain disabilities and diseases. If someone who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will be either covered entirely by their Medicare insurance or to a great extent. The one exception is, the individual must obtain treatment from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start rehabilitation, they will also have to visit their medical doctor who must declare that treatment services are medically essential, and the physician will generally approve what sort of rehab the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of treatment providers. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program when the individual has to be in a hospital for his or her issue, along with the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as any other hospital stay. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance coverage or they'll have to self pay.
