People who have TRICARE will naturally need to obtain a prior authorization before partaking in any kind of rehab service, which can be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility is the preferred rehab option, TRICARE will cover twenty-one days or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits about just how long a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very beneficial, as it can help include family members in the healing and recovery process.
