TRICARE is medical insurance which is offered to folks in the military of the United States. TRICARE covers many different rehabilitation services to handle alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, as well as rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. Those that have TRICARE will of course have to have a prior authorization before partaking in any kind of rehabilitation service, which is often arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program is the favored rehab option, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can remain in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very beneficial, as it could help include family members in the healing and process of recovery.
