Medicare is a form of health care insurance developed by the federal government for senior citizens, in addition to those that have certain disabilities and illnesses. If a person that has Medicare needs rehab for instances of substance abuse, their rehabilitation will be either covered in full by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only exception is, the individual must receive treatment coming from an alcohol and drugs detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin rehab, they will also have to visit their medical doctor who must declare that rehab services are medically necessary, and the doctor will usually approve which kind of rehab the person will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of rehab services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted program if the individual needs to be hospitalized because of their issue, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment within a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance or they will have to self pay.
