Individuals who wish to maintain some flexibility in their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab if they need rehabilitation for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab enables the rehabilitation client to participate in rehabilitation services without the commitment you might usually have to consent to in an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehab facility. This doesn't often work in the treatment client's favor however, particularly for those individuals who need to solve substantial substance abuse problems. So while an outpatient rehab may seem like an opportune possibility, it isn't for everyone. Those that choose an outpatient rehab will ordinarily take part in meetings and be a part of therapy and rehabilitation services on a part-time basis every day or several days weekly. This is helpful for individuals who have recently completed a much more comprehensive inpatient or residential program as a good aftercare or maintenance step, or someone with just a brief history of substance abuse which is really a really small number of clients. For somebody with more significant drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation centers that provide rehabilitation over a long-term basis are going to be the more effective rehab alternative.
