Individuals who wish to maintain a certain amount of flexibility within their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab should they need rehabilitation for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehab client to take part in rehabilitation services without the commitment one would normally have to consent to in an inpatient or residential drug rehabilitation facility. This doesn't always work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, particularly for those individuals who need to address significant drug abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab might appear to be an opportune option, it isn't for everybody. People that do choose an outpatient rehab will ordinarily show up at meetings and take part in therapy and rehabilitation services part-time each day or several days per week. This can be very helpful for individuals who have just completed an even more complete inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with only a brief history of drug use which is usually a very small number of clients. For a person with more significant drug abuse and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug rehab facilities which offer rehab on a long-term basis will probably be the more beneficial rehab choice.
