Dual diagnosis rehabs are programs which deliver rehabilitation to address both mental health and addiction issues simultaneously. Providing a safe and secure environment is essential to ensure that dual diagnosis clients can be relaxed and remain free from distraction from things which may compromise their treatment plan and development. Treatment counselors will continue to work to identify environmental issues in the client's life including negative relationships or other things that should be addressed in order for the person to stay mentally healthy and sober t when they leave dual diagnosis rehab. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral rehab which will help them develop more effective coping methods so that they are able to better deal with life situations well when they leave dual diagnosis rehab instead of returning to drugs and alcohol as a possible solution.
