TRICARE is medical insurance that is offered to folks in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use within the military is more common than one would assume, and the need to offer rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a variety of treatment services to address alcohol and drug dependence including detoxification services, along with treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People with TRICARE will obviously be asked to get a prior approval before partaking in any kind of treatment service, which may be arranged using a regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient facility will be the favored rehabilitation choice, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are specific limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which may be very beneficial, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled treatment counselors waiting to help today.
