A group home for anyone who has tbeen involved with drug and alcohol abuse is a place which offers continual support and assistance for folks in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled youth, but there are also group homes for people with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral difficulties for example. Instead of sending those who are struggling with drug abusedrug use or recovering from substance abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar facility, a group home might help offer an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability within their lives and still have counsel and support within reach 24/7. People who reside in a group home may be getting involved in rehabilitation services while in residence, or could be taking actions to get their life setup outside the group home in order to at one point live independently away from the group home.
