TRICARE is medical health insurance that is provided to members of the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is a lot more common than one would imagine, and the need to offer rehab to these individuals is an important priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehab services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence like detoxification services, and also rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People with TRICARE will of course be required to obtain a prior authorization before partaking in any kind of treatment service, which is often arranged with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program is the preferred rehabilitation option, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in this particular center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits as to the length of time a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which can be very helpful, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process.
