A group home for someone who has been involved in drug abuse is a facility which provides continuous support and assistance for people in recovery. A group home is usually for troubled adolescents, but there's also group homes for people with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral problems for example. Rather than sending those who are being affected by drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or any other similar place, a group home can help offer an appropriate environment to help sustain stability inside their lives and have counsel and support within reach around the clock. People who reside inside a group home may be involved in treatment services whilst in residence, or could possibly be taking actions to get their life setup outside the group home in order to at some point live independently outside the group home. By way of example, a troubled youth who's been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can work on getting their GED or obtain employment. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent answer, but it's a viable temporary option for those who are trying to get their lives back together.
