Individuals who wish to maintain some flexibility in their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab should they need treatment for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab allows for the rehab client to participate in treatment services without the commitment you might ordinarily have to consent to within an inpatient or residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation program. This doesn't often work in the treatment client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to solve substantial substance abuse problems. So while an outpatient rehab might appear to be an opportune option, it isn't for everybody. Those who do decide on an outpatient rehab will typically take part in meetings and take part in therapy and rehabilitation services part-time on a daily basis or a few days a week. This is very helpful for individuals who have recently completed a far more complete inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with only a brief history of drug abuse which is really a really small number of clients. For an individual with more significant drug abuse and dependency issues, inpatient or residential drug rehab centers which provide rehab on a long-term basis will be the more effective rehabilitation alternative.
