TRICARE is health care insurance that is offered to people in the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is much more common than one would assume, and the necessity to provide rehab to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers a variety of treatment services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People who have TRICARE will naturally be asked to have a prior authorization before taking part in any sort of rehab service, which may be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center will be the favored rehabilitation option, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in that program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits concerning how much time a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient program that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which can be very helpful, as it could help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No person in the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are professional treatment counselors waiting to assist you today.
