Medicare is a form of medical insurance developed by the government for older persons, in addition to those that have certain disabilities and diseases. If someone who has Medicare needs rehab for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will be either covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The only real exception is, the person will need to acquire treatment coming from an alcohol and drugs rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be permitted to commence rehabilitation, they may also have to visit their primary care physician who must state that rehab services are medically essential, and the doctor will generally approve which kind of treatment the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover various kinds of rehab services. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual has to be in a hospital for their problem, along with the costs that they will have to pay for personally are identical to any other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment in a Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
