Rather than sending people who are experiencing drug abusedrug use or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home may help provide an appropriate environment to help individuals maintain stability within their lives and have counsel and assistance within reach 24/7. People who reside in a group home might be getting involved in rehab services during residence, or may be taking actions to get their life setup outside of the group home in order to at one point live on their own outside the group home. As an example, a troubled youth that has been in recovery or has recovered from substance abuse can try to get their GED or acquire employment. A group home is certainly not a long-term or permanent solution, but it's a feasible temporary option for individuals who are trying to get their lives back together.
