Medicare is a form of medical insurance developed by the government for seniors, as well as those that have specific disabilities and diseases. If an individual that has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their treatment will either be covered completely by their Medicare insurance or to a significant extent. The only real catch is, the individual must receive treatment from the drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to begin rehabilitation, they will also have to see their physician who must state that rehab services are medically necessary, and the physician will usually approve what sort of rehab the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of treatment services. Medicare Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility when the individual needs to be hospitalized for their problem, and the costs that they will have to cover personally are the same as any other stay in a hospital. Medicare Part B will partially cover outpatient rehabilitation within a Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Part B doesn't pay for with supplement insurance coverage or they will have to self pay.
