Individuals who would like to maintain some flexibility in their lives can engage in an outpatient rehab when they need rehabilitation for substance abuse. Outpatient rehab allows for the rehabilitation client to participate in treatment services without the commitment you might usually have to consent to within an inpatient or residential drug rehab program. This doesn't always work in the treatment client's favor however, particularly for those clients who need to resolve significant drug abuse problems. So even though an outpatient rehab may seem like an opportune option, it isn't for everybody. People that do decide on an outpatient rehab will ordinarily attend meetings and be a part of therapy and rehabilitation services part-time daily or several days per week. This is helpful for many who have recently completed an even more complete inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or maintenance step, and someone with just a brief history of drug use which is really a really small percentage of clients. For someone with more significant addiction and dependency issues, inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment facilities that provide rehabilitation on a long-term basis will probably be the more effective rehabilitation alternative.
