Offering gender-specific rehab services has proven worthwhile in situations where traditional rehab facilities have not meet expectations, like dealing with situations in a women's life that are distinctive and distressing. Such issues may pertain to sexual abuse, physical trauma, mental abuse, eating disorders, one's family members and being a mother, or other serious issues that are specific to women. Studies show that women may also become involved in drug use more easily than men, and so are more predisposed to illness as a result of dependency problems than males as a result.
