Medicare is a form of health care insurance developed by the government for seniors, in addition to those that have certain disabilities and diseases. When someone who has Medicare needs rehab for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their treatment will either be covered fully by their Medicare insurance or to a significant degree. The only real exception is, the individual must receive treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to start rehab, they may also have to see their primary care physician who must state that rehab services are medically needed, and the physician will typically approve what type of rehab the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover different types of rehabilitation solutions. Medicare Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center if the individual needs to be hospitalized for problem, as well as the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as any other hospital stay. Part B will partly cover outpatient treatment in the Medicare accepted center, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't pay for with supplemental insurance or they're going to have to self pay.
