Medicare is a type of health care insurance designed by the federal government for senior citizens, in addition to people with specific disabilities and illnesses. If an individual who has Medicare needs rehabilitation for cases of substance abuse, their treatment will be either covered fully by their Medicare health insurance or to a significant degree. The one exception is, the person will need to obtain treatment from the drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the individual will be allowed to begin rehabilitation, they may also have to see their medical doctor who must declare that treatment services are medically needed, and the physician will generally approve what type of rehabilitation the person will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehabilitation services. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center in the event that the individual should be in a hospital for problem, and also the costs that they will have to cover personally are identical to any other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment inside a Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplemental insurance coverage or they're going to have to self pay.
