TRICARE is health insurance that's offered to members of the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is more common than one would think, and the necessity to provide rehab to these individuals is a priority. TRICARE covers numerous rehabilitation services to handle alcohol and drug dependence such as detoxification services, and also rehab in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People with TRICARE will naturally have to have a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehabilitation service, which can be arranged with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient facility will be the favored rehab option, TRICARE will cover 21 days or one inpatient stay in that facility per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits regarding the length of time a TRICARE member can remain within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which is often very helpful, as it may help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should struggle with this battle alone, and there are skilled treatment counselors ready to help you today.
