TRICARE is medical health insurance that's provided to members of the military of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is more common than one would assume, and the need to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers a number of treatment services to cope with alcohol and drug dependence like detox services, along with treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. Individuals with TRICARE will naturally have to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any type of rehab service, that may be arranged with their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient center will be the preferred treatment choice, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in this particular center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits as to the length of time a TRICARE member can stay in an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which is often very helpful, as it can certainly help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert rehabilitation counselors ready to help you today.
