Medicaid is a medical health insurance available for individuals who are in specific income brackets which qualifies them to acquire this government funded insurance coverage. Whether a person is qualified for Medicaid doesn't only depend on income however, and individuals shouldn't assume they don't qualify simply because they earn a reasonable income. For example, men and women who have quite a few dependents may be eligible for Medicaid regardless of whether they earn what might be described as a fair income. Medicaid may also cover the costs of rehab, when someone has been abusing drugs or alcohol and requires rehab. There are several drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs which accept Medicaid, but different states have distinct rules for what types of treatment are covered. Certain states only cover outpatient treatment services for example while other states cover far more intensive treatment say for example a residential stay in long-term alcohol and drug rehabilitation center. If a person is involved in substance abuse and desires help, they can use their Medicaid insurance coverage to get this treatment. If they do not have Medicaid and in addition don't have the funds or another type of medical health insurance to cover rehabilitation, they can determine if they are eligible for a Medicaid and then enroll in a drug and alcohol treatment center which is approved inside their state.
