TRICARE is health insurance that's provided to people in the armed forces of the United States. Drug and alcohol use inside the military is a lot more common than one would imagine, and the need to offer rehabilitation to these individuals is a crucial priority. TRICARE covers a variety of rehabilitation services to cope with drug and alcohol dependence such as detoxification services, in addition to treatment in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. People with TRICARE will of course be required to obtain a prior authorization before partaking in any type of treatment service, which may be arranged using a regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient program will be the favored rehabilitation option, TRICARE covers 21 days or one inpatient stay in such a program per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are specific limits as to how much time a TRICARE member can remain in the inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30 to 45 day window which is covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment which may be very beneficial, as it can help include loved ones in the healing and recovery process. No person in the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehabilitation counselors ready to assist you today.
