Dual diagnosis rehabs are centers which deliver treatment to handle both addiction and mental health concerns concurrently. Dual diagnosis is a very common situation for those involved in drug abuse, as those that have mental health problems often medicate themselves with drugs and alcohol to to feel some kind of short-term respite from their disorder. Dual diagnosis clients also benefit from behavioral treatment that helps them develop more efficient coping mechanisms so they are able to better deal with life situations better when they leave dual diagnosis rehab instead of returning to drugs and alcohol as an inferior solution.
