A group home for anyone who has been involved in drug abuse is a facility which provides continual support and assistance for those in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled adolescents, but there are also group homes for individuals with a mental health disorder or who are experiencing behavioral problems for example. Rather than sending those who are struggling with substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or other similar place, a group home can help provide an appropriate environment to help sustain stability within their lives and have counsel and support at their fingertips 24/7. Residents within a group home could be involved in rehab services whilst in residence, or could possibly be taking steps to get their life setup outside of the group home to enable them to at one point live on their own not in the group home. By way of example, a troubled youth who has been in recovery or has recovered from drug abusedrug use can try to get their GED or obtain employment. A group home is not necessarily a long-term or permanent answer, yet it's a viable short term option for those who are attempting to get their lives back together again.
