A group home for a person who has been involved in alcohol and drug abuse is a facility which offers continuous support and assistance for those in recovery. A group home is typically for troubled youth, but there's also group homes for folks with a mental health problem or who are experiencing behavioral trouble for example. As opposed to sending individuals who are experiencing substance abuse or recovering from drug abuse to an orphanage, asylum or any other similar facility, a group home may help provide an acceptable environment to help individuals maintain stability within their lives and have counsel and assistance within reach around the clock. People who reside within a group home may be involved in rehab services while in residence, or might be taking steps to get their life setup outside of the group home so that they can at one point live on their own outside the group home.
