TRICARE covers a number of treatment services to address drug and alcohol dependence like detoxification services, in addition to rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient facilities. People who have TRICARE will naturally be required to have a prior approval before partaking in any type of treatment service, which may be organized with their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center is the preferred treatment option, TRICARE covers a three week period or one inpatient stay in such a facility per benefit period which is every 12 months. There are certain limits concerning how long a TRICARE member can stay in the inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, then there is typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family treatment that may be very helpful, as it can help include family members in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are skilled rehab counselors standing by to help today.
