TRICARE covers a number of rehabilitation services to deal with alcohol and drug dependence like detox services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient settings. Individuals with TRICARE will naturally have to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehabilitation service, which is often arranged using their regional TRICARE representative. If an inpatient program could be the preferred rehab option, TRICARE will cover a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in this program per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits about how much time a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient facility that accepts TRICARE, and there's typically a 30-45 day window that's covered. TRICARE also covers family therapy which may be very useful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery.
