TRICARE is health insurance which is offered to members of the military of the United States. Substance abuse within the military is much more common than one would think, and the need to provide rehabilitation to these individuals is a vital priority. TRICARE covers numerous rehabilitation services to handle drug and alcohol dependence including detox services, along with rehabilitation in outpatient, partial hospitalization and inpatient programs. People who have TRICARE will obviously be asked to obtain a prior approval before partaking in any sort of rehab service, that may be arranged using their regional TRICARE liaison. If an inpatient center will be the favored rehab option, TRICARE covers a 3 week period or one inpatient stay in that center per benefit period which is every 365 days. There are certain limits concerning the length of time a TRICARE member can stay within an inpatient center that accepts TRICARE, and there is typically a 30-45 day window that is covered. TRICARE also covers family counselling that may be very helpful, as it could help include loved ones in the healing and process of recovery. No member of the military should fight this battle alone, and there are expert treatment counselors waiting to help you today.
