Medicare is a form of health care insurance developed by the U.S. government for senior citizens, in addition to people with specific disabilities and diseases. If someone who has Medicare needs treatment for cases of substance abuse, their rehab will either be covered in full by their Medicare insurance or to a great extent. The only exception is, the individual will have to acquire treatment from the drugs and alcohol detox facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to commence rehabilitation, they may also have to visit their primary care physician who must state that treatment services are medically necessary, and the physician will usually approve what sort of rehabilitation the individual will do. Medicare Part An and Part B cover several types of treatment providers. Part A covers an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted center when the individual should be hospitalized for his or her problem, and the costs which they willwill have to pay for personally are identical to every other stay in a hospital. Part B will partly cover outpatient rehab in the Medicare accepted facility, and the individual will need to cover whatever Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance or they will have to self pay.
