Individuals who wish to maintain a certain amount of flexibility within their lives can take advantage of an outpatient rehab if they need treatment for drug or alcohol abuse. Outpatient rehab will allow for the rehabilitation client to take part in treatment services without the commitment one would normally have to agree to in an inpatient or residential alcohol and drug treatment program. This doesn't often work in the rehabilitation client's favor however, specifically those clients who need to address substantial drug abuse issues. So while an outpatient rehab might appear to be an opportune option, it isn't for everybody. Those that decide on an outpatient rehab will ordinarily show up at meetings and take part in therapy and treatment services on a part-time basis on a daily basis or several days a week. This is very helpful for many who have recently completed a far more extensive inpatient or residential program as an effective aftercare or upkeep step, or someone with only a short history of substance abuse which is really a really small number of clients. For an individual with more serious addiction and dependency problems, inpatient or residential drug and alcohol treatment facilities which provide rehabilitation over a long-term basis are going to be the more beneficial rehabilitation option.
