Medicare is a form of health insurance created by the U.S. government for seniors, and also individuals with certain disabilities and illnesses. If a person who has Medicare needs rehab for instances of drug or alcohol abuse, their rehabilitation will be either covered completely by their Medicare insurance or to a great extent. The only real exception is, the individual will have to acquire treatment coming from a drug rehab facility which accepts Medicare. Before the person will be allowed to start rehab, they may also have to visit their primary care physician who must declare that treatment services are medically necessary, and the physician will usually approve what sort of rehabilitation the individual will take part in. Medicare Part An and Part B cover a variety of rehabilitation providers. Part A pays for an inpatient stay in a Medicare accepted facility if the individual should be hospitalized for his or her issue, as well as the costs that they will have to pay for personally are the same as any other hospital stay. Part B will partially cover outpatient treatment in the Medicare accepted program, and the individual will have to cover whatever Medicare Part B doesn't cover with supplement insurance or they will have to self pay.
